About Matt Crossman
Matt Crossman is Stewardship Director at Rathbones, where he leads the firm’s stewardship activities, including proxy voting and active engagement with companies on ESG issues. With over 20 years in responsible investment, Matt specialises in climate change and human rights in supply chains.
He has led investor coalitions engaging major global businesses on modern slavery and other critical sustainability challenges, including the award-winning “Votes Against Slavery” initiative, which won Stewardship Initiative of the Year at the 2022 PRI Awards. Matt holds a law degree from the University of Bristol, with a focus on environmental law, and postgraduate qualifications in sustainable development. He also holds the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing and a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Corporate Governance Institute.
Through his work, Matt helps businesses and investors align with ethical practices and drive meaningful change across global supply chains.
